You know last week, when I made changes in my schedule, so I could spend more time on writing?
Yes, I remember. You were excited that you’d given the required notice to leave your work at the clinic, BUT you felt agitated because you didn’t want to have to wait. You felt ready to jump in with both feet and waiting felt like a delay.
No matter what you do in life, the thoughts that you put behind any activity has a significant effect on the outcome of your goals and dreams. Whether you are pushing yourself to your limit in sport, working your ass off for that next promotion at work, or sitting on the couch watching the world go by, the success you will achieve is affected by your thoughts.
Do you feel any tightness or strain in your posture?
Wherever you are right now, take a moment to do a self-scan. Close your eyes and imagine a beam, like the scanning light on a photocopier, starting at the top of your head and slowly working down to your toes.
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! May your day be filled with laughter, hugs, and endless love. Today, I’m thinking of my dad, who has been gone for nearly seven years. He was an amazing man, someone who I could always rely on for a strong shoulder to lean on, or a kick in the ass if I needed it. Thanks to a selfless organ donation by a stranger in 2004, he received a life-extending lung transplant. He was able to meet seven of his grandchildren (my sister-in-law is expecting grandchild number eight in August) and had a special relationship with each of them.
This week I did a lot of thinking about gratitude and the importance it plays in my life. When I’m having a tough day, remembering all the wonderful people I have in my life helps to improve my mood. On days where I feel like I’m on top of the world, gratitude helps to keep me grounded. I’ve recently begun incorporating daily gratitude journaling as part of my morning routine. What are some things you are grateful for? How often do you express your gratitude towards people in your life?
Hey! Welcome to the beginning of June! Can you believe that we are nearly on the longest day of the year? It is nice to have so much sunshine and daylight to sweep away the last of that long winter we’ve all had. I know I am ready for summer, although the meteorologists are calling for long, hot, dry days. Let’s hope that everyone stays safe and remembers that cigarettes and campfires are the number one cause of forest fires. Put out your fires and don't throw cigarettes out of the window. 😊
