Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! May your day be filled with laughter, hugs, and endless love. Today, I’m thinking of my dad, who has been gone for nearly seven years. He was an amazing man, someone who I could always rely on for a strong shoulder to lean on, or a kick in the ass if I needed it. Thanks to a selfless organ donation by a stranger in 2004, he received a life-extending lung transplant. He was able to meet seven of his grandchildren (my sister-in-law is expecting grandchild number eight in August) and had a special relationship with each of them.Read More
This week I did a lot of thinking about gratitude and the importance it plays in my life. When I’m having a tough day, remembering all the wonderful people I have in my life helps to improve my mood. On days where I feel like I’m on top of the world, gratitude helps to keep me grounded. I’ve recently begun incorporating daily gratitude journaling as part of my morning routine. What are some things you are grateful for? How often do you express your gratitude towards people in your life?Read More
Hey! Welcome to the beginning of June! Can you believe that we are nearly on the longest day of the year? It is nice to have so much sunshine and daylight to sweep away the last of that long winter we’ve all had. I know I am ready for summer, although the meteorologists are calling for long, hot, dry days. Let’s hope that everyone stays safe and remembers that cigarettes and campfires are the number one cause of forest fires. Put out your fires and don't throw cigarettes out of the window. 😊Read More
Happy Sunday! I hope you all had a good week. I’m going to jump right in this week so here are my wins for this week. Enjoy! This week in the acting class I’m taking (I’m taking it for personal development, not to become an actor), we had to perform a three-minute solo dance. At the beginning of the course, we were given characters, and the dance we chose was to be something our character would dance to in a private moment.Read More
Happy Victoria Day! The weather has turned again to cool, spring-like weather after two weeks of solid hot, dry days. The change was quite welcome as temperatures in Vancouver had reached temperatures of 30 degrees. For May, that is crazy! I can’t think of another time that we’ve had such high temps in spring. Beats the rain but wreaks havoc on our snow packs and increases the need for water restrictions in July and August.Read More
Happy Mother’s Day! I'm starting this week’s Weekly Win honoring an important person in my life, my mom. Mom, I wouldn’t be the person I am today without your endless love and guidance through the years. Thank you for putting up with my nonsense as a teenager and for always being there when I needed you. You always supported me, even when you may not have agreed with my decisions. Life has been a great journey and having you as a mom, has made each step a little easier.Read More
Can you believe we have made it to May already! It feels like this year has just started and here we are already five months into the year. We have been lucky enough to be getting some fantastic weather, unlike the last couple of years. It looks like mostly sun for us this week. Bring on the short sleeve and shorts weather!Read More
Happy Sunday! Hope you’ve all had a great week. For those of you that are here in Vancouver, I hope you were able to get out and enjoy some of the fantastic weather we received this week.
There is a lot going on so let’s get going with this week’s Weekly Wins.Read More
Can this be true? Is Spring finally here? That seems to be the case, here on the West Coast. The birds are chirping, the sun is shining, and life is sprouting everywhere. The smiles on everyone’s faces is our reward for enduring months of rain, cold, and for some places, BLIZZARDS.Read More
Happy Sunday! Hope you all had a good weekend and were able to get out and get some exercise. If you are on the east coast, you might not have been able to do much more than shovel snow from your driveways. Here on the west coast, the spring rains continued to fall for most of the weekend. Thankfully today was dry.Read More
How did the weekend fly by so quickly! We had a lot going on this weekend so this week’s Weekly Win is a touch late. As the saying goes... “Better late than never!” So here we go!
I made a last minute decision to register for a Soft Tissue Release course where I learned some new techniques I can use in the clinic and at sporting events. My goal is to increase my athletic clientele, so this course was a no-brainer and I’m so glad I did it.Read More
Happy Easter! Hope the Easter Bunny was good to you all. Even though my kids are well into their teens, the Easter Bunny still makes an appearance every year. Sadly, their taste in chocolate has improved, and I can’t get away with buying cheap chocolate. I must say, it’s worth spending a bit extra (if you can) on better quality chocolate. If you are going to treat yourself, and your kids, you might as well have the good stuff!Read More
