Weekly Win - 32

Greetings from Whistler, British Columbia! It’s our annual family vacation to Whistler for my birthday weekend. It’s been a great trip so far although Spencer hasn’t been able to join us for much of it. Someone has to stay home and housesit… Just kidding. Sadly, he had to work, so he was unable to join us this trip other than a single day trip up to see us.

Welcome to the first weekend of August! I can’t believe that we are halfway through summer already. For those of us in Canada, it’s a Civic Holiday on Monday, so many people are taking the opportunity to head out of town to recharge themselves and spend some time with family.

Hey! Can you believe we are at week 30 already? Here in Vancouver, summer is in full swing, and we are experiencing yet another heat wave. Now, I’m not one to complain about the heat, but this past week, there has been little reprieve from it. British Columbia is in desperate need of some rain to cool things off and help with the forest fires that have been blazing around the province.

Happy Saturday! I can’t believe how quickly this past week flew by. I love it when things are busy around the house, time passes even quicker when you’re lost in a project. I’ve got a couple of things on the go, and I’m looking forward to sharing them soon.

Happy Sunday! We’re finally getting our summer weather here in Vancouver although there have still been a few chilly nights.  Hot days, cold nights. At least it makes it easy to sleep. Of course, until the sun blasts our bedroom with sunshine. I’m not complaining (maybe just a smidge) as summer is my favourite season. I hope you all enjoying the summer so far.

Happy Sunday Morning! I hope you all had a great week, hopefully celebrating Canada Day or American Independence Day (or both) with friends and family. The TiterLeaf clan spent the day together at the North Vancouver parade then we headed off for a big family barbeque at my brother’s trailer in Cultus Lake. It's rare that everyone can attend family dinners these days, so it was great to catch up with everyone.

Happy Canada Day!!! As you celebrate today, please take the time to acknowledge the land we are fortunate to gather on treaty and unceded traditional territories of First Nations peoples. As a Nation, today we celebrate joining together as one united land, regardless of our differences.  Today we celebrate our country’s diversity, embracing all our neighbours.  Today we celebrate all the good that we have in our country. Get out and enjoy one of the many community celebrations that are happening around the country.

Happy Sunny Sunday! Well, it’s trying to be sunny here in Vancouver. I hope wherever you are today; it is sunny and warm.  For those of you who have kids still in school, enjoy the quiet while you can. 😊 Alana is done for the summer so finding some quiet time is going to be a bit more of a challenge. I love having her home though, and I’m super excited for the summer.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! May your day be filled with laughter, hugs, and endless love.  Today, I’m thinking of my dad, who has been gone for nearly seven years.  He was an amazing man, someone who I could always rely on for a strong shoulder to lean on, or a kick in the ass if I needed it.  Thanks to a selfless organ donation by a stranger in 2004, he received a life-extending lung transplant.  He was able to meet seven of his grandchildren (my sister-in-law is expecting grandchild number eight in August) and had a special relationship with each of them.

This week I did a lot of thinking about gratitude and the importance it plays in my life. When I’m having a tough day, remembering all the wonderful people I have in my life helps to improve my mood. On days where I feel like I’m on top of the world, gratitude helps to keep me grounded.  I’ve recently begun incorporating daily gratitude journaling as part of my morning routine. What are some things you are grateful for? How often do you express your gratitude towards people in your life?

Hey! Welcome to the beginning of June! Can you believe that we are nearly on the longest day of the year? It is nice to have so much sunshine and daylight to sweep away the last of that long winter we’ve all had.  I know I am ready for summer, although the meteorologists are calling for long, hot, dry days.  Let’s hope that everyone stays safe and remembers that cigarettes and campfires are the number one cause of forest fires. Put out your fires and don't throw cigarettes out of the window.  😊

Happy Sunday! I hope you all had a good week. I’m going to jump right in this week so here are my wins for this week. Enjoy! This week in the acting class I’m taking (I’m taking it for personal development, not to become an actor), we had to perform a three-minute solo dance. At the beginning of the course, we were given characters, and the dance we chose was to be something our character would dance to in a private moment.
