This week I did a lot of thinking about gratitude and the importance it plays in my life. When I’m having a tough day, remembering all the wonderful people I have in my life helps to improve my mood. On days where I feel like I’m on top of the world, gratitude helps to keep me grounded.  I’ve recently begun incorporating daily gratitude journaling as part of my morning routine. What are some things you are grateful for? How often do you express your gratitude towards people in your life?

Here are a few things I’m grateful for this week.

I’m grateful to my Senseis at Champions Martial Arts.  Their guidance has taught me that I can push myself when I need to, and acceptance when I’m dealing with an injury and need to heal. This fact holds true now, as I begin to ramp up my training for my upcoming belt testing at the end of July.  It is amazing how an injury, and time off for recovery, makes a significant impact on cardiovascular training, as well as one’s strength and endurance. I’m still recovering from my ankle injury, but with encouragement and support from the Champions instructors, I know that I will be ready to show what I can do when the time comes.

A big THANK YOU to those who came out last weekend for Champions Martial Arts Block Party for Wildlife. While there were moments of rain, that didn’t stop people from coming down to support this incredible cause.  Master Ingrid put together a fantastic event with games, food, prizes, dancing and music, and my favorite… The Dunk Tank!  Thanks to everyone who came out! The event raised $2300, and all proceeds went to support Protection of Fur-Bearing Animals.

Of course, I have the utmost appreciation for my family. I would not be able to do all of the things I get to do without my husband Rob and two children Spencer and Alana.  They make me better every day, even the days I lose my mind. 😊 Sometimes it’s easy to get wrapped up in the noise of day-to-day life and forget to appreciate those whom you share a close space.
