Happy Sunny Sunday! Well, it’s trying to be sunny here in Vancouver. I hope wherever you are today; it is sunny and warm.  For those of you who have kids still in school, enjoy the quiet while you can. 😊 Alana is done for the summer so finding some quiet time is going to be a bit more of a challenge. I love having her home though, and I’m super excited for the summer.

Here are a few wins for the week:

After spending a relaxing afternoon walking around False Creek with Rob and Alana (Spencer sadly had to work), we found ourselves at Granville Island Market.  Picture a farmer’s market multiplied by ten! Granville Island is the place to find fresh fruit, veggies, bread, and delicious treats. We bought some local raspberries, and I bought a small bag of lychee fruit. I was introduced to these when I was about twelve by a friend and haven’t had them since then. I finally convinced Alana (more like I didn’t give her a choice) to try one, half expecting her to spit it out. Well… she liked it! She and I polished off most of the bag before Rob took it away from us. I guess it’s best to save some for tomorrow!

I’ve worked hard this past week, making sure I didn’t consume yeast or dairy. I’ve had some testing done in the past few weeks, and I have a short list of foods that I shouldn't eat.  Generally, I let myself get so hungry that I’ll eat anything, and I usually reach for whatever is easiest.  Sadly, that is usually bread (yeast) or yogurt (dairy). I made a few yeast and dairy free snacks to have handy for when I need to get something into my system quickly, and this week I’ve been successful at staying on track.  My favorite…. Pepper and sea salt crackers (made with almond flour). Yum!
