Weekly Win - 28
Happy Sunday! We’re finally getting our typical summer weather here in Vancouver although there have still been a few chilly nights. Hot days, cold nights. At least it makes it easy to sleep. Of course, until the sun blasts our bedroom with sunshine. I’m not complaining (maybe just a smidge) as summer is my favourite season. I hope you all enjoying the summer so far.
Here are a few wins from this week:
We decided to explore Lighthouse Park this past week as some outdoor climbing routes are graded to our abilities. The park has 75 hectares of land and marks the point where the Burrard Inlet meets Howe Sound. There are a ton of great trails that lead you around the park, offering stunning views of the ocean and surrounding islands. The cliffs that drop down into the sea give climbers something different and exciting to climb as the ocean crashes below you. We’re looking forward to climbing them in the coming weeks.
I returned to violin lessons this week as the school reopened after a two-week teaching break. Puya, my instructor, and I are working towards finishing the book I’m currently working through by the end of my next three lessons. Looking back to where I was a year ago, fresh from buying a musical instrument I had no idea how to play, it’s fascinating to see how far I’ve come in a year. Perhaps I’ll even sign up for the Christmas or year-end concert. Maybe! 😉
Alana is halfway through her math summer school course. She has had a couple exams and is doing really well. Like her dad, she fully understands the material and is well on her way to keep up her high grades.

Enjoy the sunshine!
