Happy Rainy Sunday! We’re finally getting some much-needed rain after months of dry, hot summer. I love hearing the rain bouncing off the roof. Makes me excited for the coming days of sitting around in front of the fireplace on cold evenings. I’m sure the cold weather is going to come sooner than we expect. Summer seemed to turn off the heat during the last few days of August. Perhaps Vancouver mountains will get snow early this year.

It’s been a quiet week around the TiterLeaf household but here are a few things we’ve been up to.

After having a leaky roof for the last year, Rob ventured up to the roof this past week to finally fix things. He knew rain was coming (although probably didn’t expect the torrential downpour we received) and he knew if he didn’t get it done now, there might not be another opportunity before winter. He spent two days working in the hot sun, he finished laying new roofing materials that would get us through until we are ready to do our renovations in the next year or two. His handy work was a success as everything is nice and dry today, even after the crazy rainstorm we had yesterday.

Alana is back to school and already working on her Grade 10 Personal Project. As she has plans to go into Architecture and Engineering at University, her project will include Passive House (Passivhaus) design and infrastructure.
